Nigerian deacon takes mic, stops DJ playing secular music at his son’s wedding in video, says he’s in charge

  • The disgruntled man also took the opportunity to hit guests for dancing ‘in an ungodly way’ and said he was responsible

There was mild drama at a young man’s wedding when his father forbade the DJ from playing secular songs.

Taking the microphone, the disgruntled man who is a deacon at the Assemblies of God church urged the DJ to pack his bags and leave if he doesn’t have any Christian songs.

“I’m in charge of this program. Everything has to be done in an orderly and Christian way. If you don’t have Christian music, pack your bags and go.

“And all those dances that you dance, for me it’s not accepted.”

Talk with‘s Victor Duru, the MC of the occasion who shared the video on TikTok via his handle @officialfreedom_mc said the incident happened on Saturday April 23 in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State.

Asked about the groom’s reaction to his father’s action, the MC said the young man did nothing.

“He was just mute like a remote-controlled human being,” he said.

Meanwhile, previously reported that a pastor caused a stir at a wedding by wiping makeup off the bride and bridesmaid on the altar.

The wedding clips shared by @lindaikejiblogofficial on Instagram began with the pastor aggressively cleaning the makeup off the faces of the two ladies with a garment while the groom looked on from the sidelines.

The pastor also asked the bridesmaid to remove the bride’s nail polish right at the altar.

The groom in the white suit didn’t move an inch as the pastor performed the embarrassing actions.
