The 12th annual Dixon Kiwanis Tree Festival will take place on Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Hall. The event will feature live entertainment with decorated Christmas trees up for auction.
The event opens at 9 a.m. and features musical entertainment throughout the day starting with the violin students of Florie Brown of Davis. Hattie Craven, a popular folk singer, will perform at 11:30 am, followed by the Dixon High School Choir at noon. The Dixon High School Jazz Ensemble will perform at 12:45 p.m.
The Dixon Dance Studio will perform a variety of holiday songs at 2:30 pm At 3:15 pm the Will C. Wood String Ensemble will perform, followed by a duet with Hannah Miller and Russell Fry.
Suzanne Lorente will end the evening at 5 p.m., leading the school’s Key Club in Christmas jingles and inviting the audience to sing along to traditional carols.
Guests are invited to have refreshments at Dessert Social at 5 p.m.
The Festival of Trees will be held at 1305 North First St in Dixon. Entry and parking are free for this silent auction of trees benefiting the children of Dixon and the Kiwanis Family Home.
