Officers from the Burns Jr. Sr. HS FFA Section attended the Wyoming FFA Foundation’s annual fundraising banquet known as “The Blue Jeans Ball” in Torrington, Wyoming

September 25, 2021. The officers were guests of the state’s largest electric utility and event sponsor, Rocky Mountain Power. The evening included a raffle, live silent auction and dinner, sponsored by Wyoming Pork Producers, a disc jockey, and featured over a hundred cupcakes and desserts provided by Stacy’s Cakes.

According to Oaklee Anderson, executive director of the Wyoming FFA Foundation, the event raised more than $ 33,000. Anderson said the funds will be used to support the foundation’s overall work as well as programs and activities throughout the year. The Blue Jeans Ball allows the foundation to fill funding gaps in FFA programs and classrooms that do not yet have a specific sponsor.

“A great example of this in 2021 was our new agriculture educators conference, AgWISE,” Anderson said. “The Wyoming FFA Foundation has been in existence since 1958. The Blue Jeans Ball goes by many other names, but has been instrumental in raising awareness and supporting our foundation for over 20 years.”

Notes below from the WY FFA Foundation:

Final amount collected? Over $ 33,000 in net profit

What will the funds be used for? The funds are used to support the overall work of the foundation. We raise a large amount of designated funds throughout the year for known programs and activities. The Blue Jeans Ball allows us to fill the funding gaps that we see in FFA programs and classrooms that do not yet have a specific sponsor. A good example of this in 2021 was our new agriculture educators conference, AgWISE.

And whatever else you think might be useful for the article. The Wyoming FFA Foundation has been in existence since 1958. The Blue Jeans Ball goes by many other names, but has been instrumental in raising awareness and supporting our foundation for over 20 years.
