‘American Idol’: Fans urge Lionel Richie to get ‘ears checked’ for praising Dan Marshall’s act

As Dan Marshall continues to go through the “American Idol” contest, fans continue to feel puzzled about his time on the show. From wondering how he was still in the competition to calling him nothing more than a karaoke singer, fans had several strong feelings about him.

Despite the harsh comments from fans, Dan continued to be a hit with the public, as they continued to vote for him. So when Dan took the stage for his Top 14 performance and sang Kenny Chesney’s “She’s Got it All,” it was like deja vu. The judges – Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie couldn’t get enough of him. Lionel called his performance one of the best performances in the competition. After seeing the judges sing his praises, fans took to Twitter to call out the judges for their overtly positive comments about Dan’s performance.

Noah is more of a recording artist than Dan. #AmericanIdol.” “It wasn’t good, Dan, why didn’t Lionel say he was out of tune for a lot of it. It wasn’t good. Katy just said it wasn’t was no good #AmericanIdol,” one fan wrote. “#americanidol Karaoke Dan…boring. Hosts need to stop pushing this. Poor. Others are way better,” one fan pointed out. “I think Lionel should get his hearing checked because Dan and was horrible… #AmericanIdol,” a fan added.
